Everton manager Ronald Koeman says he is not surprised that Arsene Wenger blamed the referee for Arsenal's defeat at Goodison Park

Everton manager Ronald Koeman appeared to mock Arsene Wenger for questioning the award of a corner in Arsenal's 2-1 loss at Goodison Park on Tuesday.

Ashley Williams headed home from the corner in the 86th minute to complete the hosts' come-from-behind victory.

But Wenger felt the set piece should not have been awarded to the Toffees in the first place, as he said Everton substitute Dominic Calvert-Lewin headed the ball behind rather than Laurent Koscielny.

Koeman responded with a dig at the Arsenal boss: "I'm not surprised because it's the third [home game] in a row I won against Arsenal and three times in a row it was about the referee.

"I'm sorry Arsenal, we won through the referee."

It is the first time Arsenal have conceded from a corner in the league this season and meant they missed the chance to go top of the table.

"But I think we have to live with a wrong decision and it does not explain why we did not head the ball after.

"I think I am really disappointed because Clattenburg was in a very good position to see they headed the ball out and it's not the first time we are unlucky with this decision this season.

"Overall, I do not want to speak about the referee too much. It is not my problem."
