Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare said he was disappointed not to come away from Arsenal with a point on Wednesday night

Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare said he was disappointed not to come away from Arsenal with a point following their 1-0 defeat on Wednesday.

Robert Huth's late own goal gave Arsenal victory at the Emirates, after Leicester had put in a resilient defensive display.

Shakespeare was delighted with his side's showing up until that point, and said Leicester had chances of their own in both halves.

He told Sky Sports: "We had to show a lot of different attributes today, defend, put our bodies on the line, which I think we did for 85 minutes, but lady luck wasn't with us, losing to a deflected shot.

"To not come away with a point, having put in that type of resilient performance, was disappointing.

"We're playing against some good quality players out there with a good home record. We had a couple of good chances in the first half, and one in the second half, and if they go our way, who knows what might have happened?

"We showed resilience in terms of our defending ability, but ultimately we haven't got three points. We knew this would be a tough game, and we need more points on the board, starting with Saturday."

Leicester are six points clear of the drop zone with a game in hand, but Shakespeare says there is no club target in place, and insists they are taking the remainder of the season game by game.

He said: "We're taking each game as it comes, we've got a real tough challenge in West Brom next and we haven't much time to recover. We need to dust ourselves down, get some recovery in us and go again."

Asked if he was any closer to knowing if he'd be Leicester manager next year, Shakespeare said: "No I'm not."
