Five stats to tell your mates: Heung-Min Son's amazing Wembley record

COVER 2

It was another busy day of Premier League action with Heung-Min Son to the fore in scoring two goals for Tottenham.

Elsewhere, it was another good day for Carlos Carvalhal's Swansea, while the problems continue for Alan Pardew at West Brom.

Here, we pick out five of the stand-out stats for you to share...

Son stars again for Spurs

There is no arguing with the form of Son as he scored both of Tottenham's goals in their routine 2-0 victory over Huddersfield at Wembley. There was a time when Spurs' record at the national stadium was under scrutiny but Son certainly seems to enjoy it.

Heung-Min Son has now scored nine Premier League goals at Wembley, three more than he did at White Hart Lane

The South Korea international has now been involved in 13 Premier League goals (nine goals and four assists) in his last 11 Premier League appearances at Wembley, three more than he managed in his 30 appearances in the competition at White Hart Lane.

Misery for West Brom

Pardew was already under huge pressure at bottom club West Brom and their 1-0 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road feels like the end of their hopes of Premier League survival. The Baggies are now seven points adrift of second-bottom Stoke City let alone safety.

West Brom's defeat at Watford means they have lost five Premier League games in a row for the first time since January 2011

They are in the worst form of any side in the competition and this sequence of five consecutive Premier League defeats is the worst that the club has endured in over seven years. With one win in 27 league games, West Brom's fate looks to be sealed.

Everton beaten away again

Everton went ahead against Burnley through Cenk Tosun's first goal for the club but still succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at Turf Moor as their dismal away form continued under Sam Allardyce. The Toffees have now lost their last five Premier League games on their travels.

Everton have now lost 19 games in all competitions - the most since the 2005/06 season

It was the home side's first win anywhere in 2018 but beating Everton is statistically easier than it has been at any point in the past decade. This was their 19th defeat of the campaign in all competitions - the most games they have lost in a single season since 2005/06.

Mahrez salvages a point

Claude Puel's Leicester are enduring a difficult run of their own having now gone five games without a win in the Premier League - their worst run in the competition since the final six matches of Craig Shakespeare's reign at the King Power Stadium.

Riyad Mahrez finally scored with a direct free-kick in the Premier League for Leicester against Bournemouth

The Foxes needed a late free-kick from Riyad Mahrez to salvage a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth. The good news for Mahrez is that his strike ends his previous record of having failed to score with all 27 of his shots from direct free-kicks in the Premier League.

Swansea stun West Ham

Swansea's revival under Carvalhal continued with their emphatic 4-1 win over West Ham at the Liberty Stadium. The Swans have now scored 14 goals in nine Premier League games under the Portuguese boss after netting only nine in their 20 games prior to that.

West Ham have conceded a Premier League high of 37 goals away from home following their 4-1 defeat to Swansea City

David Moyes' West Ham had no answer and his side's away form is a real concern for the Scot. This was a second consecutive 4-1 away defeat and they have now conceded 37 Premier League goals on their travels - that is more than any other club in the competition.
