Opta's Premier League statistics: The best of Saturday's games

It was another busy day of Premier League action as Jose Mourinho's Chelsea suffered their fifth defeat of the season.

But which player has now scored or assisted 19 goals in his last 20 appearances? And which side won their first-ever Premier League game in the month of October?

Here we bring you the best stats from Saturday's games, with the help of our friends at Opta...

Aston Villa 1-2 Swansea City

Jordan Ayew scored his first Premier League goal in what was his sixth appearance in the competition.

His brother Andre Ayew scored his fifth Premier League goal in his 10th appearance.

Swansea came from behind to inflict Aston Villa's sixth consecutive defeat.

Gylfi Sigurdsson has scored (16) or assisted (14) 30 goals in 60 Premier League apps for Swansea - only Wilfried Bony (31) has been involved in more for the club in the competition.

There have only been seven goals scored from direct free-kicks in the Premier League so far this season and four of these have been in games involving Swansea (scored one, conceded three).

Villa have lost eight of their 10 Premier League games in 2015-16; becoming only the 10th side to lose eight or more of their opening 10 Premier League matches in a season. Of the previous nine, five were relegated at the end of the campaign.

Leicester City 1-0 Crystal Palace

Jamie Vardy became only the fifth different English player to score in 7+ successive Premier League games after Alan Shearer (7), Ian Wright (7), Mark Stein (7) and Daniel Sturridge (8).

Overall, Jamie Vardy has become just the eighth different player to score in seven or more consecutive Premier League appearances.

Jamie Vardy scored for the seventh consecutive game as Leicester beat Crystal Palace.

Vardy has had a hand in 19 goals in his last 20 Premier League appearances (14 goals, five assists).

Leicester City have claimed their 100th Premier League win in this match.

The Foxes have tasted defeat only once in their last 14 top-flight matches (W8 D5).

Crystal Palace have now lost four of their last six Premier League matches and have failed to score in three of these games.

This was the first time in Leicester's last 11 Premier League matches that they have not been involved in a game which has seen both teams score.

Danny Drinkwater recorded 88 touches in this game; no Leicester City player has managed more in a single Premier League matches this season.

Norwich City 0-1 West Bromwich Albion

Norwich have won just three of their last 10 league games against West Brom, losing seven.

At Carrow Road, the hosts have lost five of their last six league clashes with West Brom, winning only one.

Salomon Rondon's goal was enough to give West Brom a victory over Norwich City.

Norwich City have conceded more goals than any other side in the Premier League this season (21).

West Bromwich Albion have kept a league-high 16 clean sheets in the Premier League since Tony Pulis' first game in charge of them on January 10th 2015.

West Brom have kept six clean sheets in their last nine Premier League games.

Stoke City 0-2 Watford

Troy Deeney scored his first goal in the Premier League with what was his 25th shot in the competition.

Odion Ighalo has been involved in each of Watford's last seven Premier League goals (five goals, two assists).

Troy Deeney scored his first Premier League goal as Watford won away at Stoke.

Ighalo is the first player to have assisted more than once in a Premier League game for Watford (two today).

Watford won their first-ever Premier League game in the month of October.

Watford are unbeaten in their last six league meetings with Stoke City and have kept a clean sheet in all six of these games.

Stoke have failed to score in their last four league games at the Britannia Stadium against the Hornets.

West Ham United 2-1 Chelsea

This is West Ham's best-ever start to a Premier League season after 10 games (20 points), while it's Chelsea's worst-ever start after 10 games (11 points).

Jose Mourinho has lost six of his last 12 Premier League matches; immediately before that run, he had lost six in 64 in the English top-flight.

West Ham have now won their three Premier League London derbies so far this season (also against Arsenal and Crystal Palace) - they only won two Premier League London derbies in the whole of 2014-15.

Andy Carroll scored West Ham's winner to consign 10-man Chelsea to defeat.

Mauro Zarate scored his first-ever Premier League goal at Upton Park in this match.

West Ham United scored their first goal against Chelsea in 467 minutes.

Chelsea have conceded the first goal in five of their 10 Premier League matches this season; they only managed it in eight games throughout the entire 2014/15 campaign.

Nine of Andy Carroll's last 16 Premier League goals have been from headers (56 per cent).

The Hammers have scored in 10 successive Premier League games for the first time since a run which ended in November 2009.

West Ham's 17 competitive games this season have witnessed 11 red cards - no other Premier League side have seen more than five reds in their games in 2015-16 (all competitions).

Gary Cahill scored his first league goal since November 2014 in this match.

Arsenal 2-1 Everton

Olivier Giroud has now scored in four of his last five appearances for Arsenal in all competitions.

Giroud has netted five goals in the Gunners' last five meetings with Everton in all competitions.

Olivier Giroud scored as Arsenal overcame Everton 2-1 at the Emirates.

Arsenal have lost just one of their last 17 Premier League meetings with Everton (W10 D6).

Mesut Ozil picked up his seventh Premier League assist of the 2015-16 campaign - more than any other player.

The Gunners have now scored 89 Premier League goals against Everton - no side has scored more against a single opponent in the competition (Man Utd also have 89 v Everton).

Arsenal are now on 1999 goals in all competitions under Arsene Wenger.

Gareth Barry received his sixth Premier League red card - four of which have come against London clubs.
