Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has visited the club's training ground for the first time since breaking his leg.

Shaw suffered a double fracture in a tackle by Hector Moreno in his side's 2-1 loss to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League in September.

The England international broke both his fibula and tibia in the incident and was operated on twice in hospital in the Netherlands before returning to Manchester.

United manager Louis van Gaal said he expects Shaw to miss around six months of first-team action as he recovers from the injury.

The first stage of that recovery will be undertaken at home but Shaw confirmed he had been to the club's Carrington training ground for the first time since the incident.
