PSV Eindhoven coach Phillip Cocu hopes Hector Moreno will not be booed by Manchester United fans at Old Trafford.

United and PSV meet in the Champions League for the second time this season on Wednesday. In the reverse fixture, United left-back Luke Shaw broke his leg in two places following a tackle by PSV defender Moreno.

The Mexican apologised for the tackle - which went unpunished - but that may not save him from a frosty reception when he steps out on to the pitch in Manchester.

Cocu does not want that to be the case, however.

"I hope not," the PSV boss said when asked if he thought Moreno would be booed. "It was a very bad injury. Hopefully Luke Shaw will get back soon.

"He is a fantastic player. The most important thing will be that he is back on his feet shortly, joining the team and playing for Manchester United, but we don't know what will happen in the game."

PSV have shown support for Shaw since the incident. Cocu and his squad visited the England international during his three-day stay in an Eindhoven hospital and the club's fan club has also done its bit too.

They have brought two surfer flags with Shaw's face on it alongside the words 'Get well soon Luke Shaw' to England.

One will be carried aloft by the away fans during Wednesday's game and the other has been delivered to the player.
