The agent of Benfica defender Victor Lindelof, a January transfer target for Manchester United, admits his client is being chased by some of Europe’s biggest teams.
Sky sources revealed on Sunday the Swedish international is United's priority transfer target in January and tentative enquiries have already been made regarding his availability.
Jose Mourinho is keen to bolster his options in central defence with Ivory Coast international Eric Bailly, who is currently out injured, set to depart for the Africa Cup of Nations at the beginning of January.
However, according to Lindelof's representative Hasan Cetinkaya, United will face competition to sign the highly-rated 22-year-old.
"I don't want to comment on various clubs but there is concrete interest from some of the biggest in Europe," Cetinkaya told Swedish outlet Fotbollskanalen.
"'Vigge' really enjoys it at Benfica, at the same time, as I have said before, there is no smoke without fire when it comes to that many clubs that are interested in him, but Victor is focused on Benfica."
United have been told they only be able to sign Lindelof if Benfica fail to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Benfica have one match remaining in Group B against Napoli on December 6 and they will not allow Lindelof to leave the Estadio da Luz if they progress to the next stage of the competition.
