Phil Jones' jewellery theft from Manchester United training ground probed by police

Greater Manchester Police have confirmed they are investigating the theft of jewellery from the players' dressing room at Manchester United's training ground.

Police were called to the club's training facilities at Carrington on Christmas Eve.

The jewellery, understood to belong to defender Phil Jones, went missing between Wednesday December 21 and Friday December 23.

We understand that to date, the investigation, based at the nearby Stretford police station, has failed to recover the jewellery.

Greater Manchester Police told Sky Sports News HQ:" Police were called at 2pm on Saturday 24 December 2016, to reports of a theft that occurred on Isherwood Road, Carrington sometime between Wednesday 21 December and Friday 23 December."
