The 24-year-old was found guilty of assaulting a police officer outside a Paris nightclub in September last year.

It is also understood that United are not currently pursuing other targets and may have to offload some players before allowing any other arrivals.

Mourinho facing a big second season at Old Trafford

While United wrapped up the signing of Nemanja Matic from Chelsea on Monday, they have been frustrated in their attempts to secure Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic.

Sky Sports News reported in July that United were close to agreeing a fee for Perisic, with Inter holding out for a £48m transfer fee or a deal that would see Anthony Martial head to the Serie A club.

But Perisic has gone on Inter's pre-season tour of Asia, impressing in the 2-0 win over Bayern Munich, and Inter boss Luciano Spalletti has insisted the Croatia international would not be sold unless their fee expectations were met.

Having signed Romelu Lukaku and Victor Lindelof, Mourinho admitted before Matic's arrival: "I would like two more players but probably I only get one."
