Real secure Robben & Heinze

Premier League duo complete moves to Real

Real Madrid have completed the signings of Arjen Robben and Gabriel Heinze. The Chelsea winger and Manchester United defender have sealed their moves after passing routine medical exams. Robben has been linked with Real all summer but Chelsea had been keen to keep the Dutchman at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have finally agreed to let Robben go, for a fee reported to be in the region of 36million euros (£24million). He has signed a five-year deal with Real, while Heinze has committed to the Spanish champions for the next four years. Heinze's transfer has been much more sudden, as the Argentine had wanted to secure a switch to Liverpool. The full-back is understood to have cost Real 12million euros (£8million). Heinze and Robben are set to make their debuts in the Madrid derby against Atletico this weekend, where they could line up together down the left.

A fresh start

"It is a pleasure to wear this shirt," Heinze said. "I am going to give everything and I hope that this year we can continue making the fans happy." Robben added: "I won every prize I could win in England, but I had too many injuries there so didn't make the impact I wanted to. "I see this as a new start and a new chance and I hope I can stay out of that terrible (treatment) room."
