Chelsea have completed the signing of Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi on a five-year contract for a fee of £33m.

Batshuayi, who has been playing at Euro 2016 with Belgium, had been linked with a host of clubs after scoring 17 goals in Ligue 1 last season.

The 22-year-old was given special dispensation to leave the Belgium camp by head coach Marc Wilmots last week and was met by Chelsea's team doctor for a medical in Bordeaux ahead of his transfer to Stamford Bridge.

Batshuayi had attracted offers from West Ham and Crystal Palace while Belgium team-mate Toby Alderweireld said that he hoped the forward would join him at Tottenham next season.

But the player, who will wear the No 23 shirt, has become new manager Antonio Conte's first signing for the Blues.

He said: "I am delighted to sign for one of the biggest clubs in Europe and embark on the next chapter in my career. I hope I can help Chelsea win many trophies during my time at Stamford Bridge.
