Cesc Fabregas denies ever wanting to leave Chelsea

Cesc Fabregas has insisted he never considered leaving Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

The midfielder, who was a key first-team player during his first two seasons at Stamford Bridge, has fallen down the pecking order under new boss Antonio Conte.

He was linked with a move away from west London - AC Milan and Real Madrid were touted as possible suitors - but he is adamant he never sought to leave Chelsea.

When asked if he contemplated departing Chelsea in August, he told Spanish radio station, Cadena Cope: "No. To a big club, no.

"In no moment did I consider leaving. There might have been calls or not, but in no moment did I consider leaving Chelsea."

The former Arsenal player admitted he was finding life tough under Conte's management having failed to make a start in the Premier League this season.

However, Fabregas will be hoping his impressive performance during his side's EFL Cup third round game against Leicester City will put him back in favour with his new boss.
