Philippe Coutinho is set to make his Liverpool comeback in their final Europa League Group B game at Sion on Thursday.

Coutinho has missed the Reds' last four matches with a hamstring injury but was part of the 19-man squad that flew out to Switzerland on Wednesday afternoon.

Lucas Leiva, Joe Allen, Jordon Ibe and Alberto Moreno have been left on Merseyside with boss Jurgen Klopp opting to rest players as his side have already qualified for the knockout stages.

The news on Coutinho will come as a welcome boost to Liverpool, who will be without Daniel Sturridge after the England striker damaged a hamstring in the defeat to Newcastle last weekend.

Moreno's absence could mean a start for 21-year-old left-back Brad Smith, whose future at the club looked to be over after he rejected a new contract in the summer.

The club stood firm, holding on to his registration, and Smith and his representatives had a change of heart and agreed a new deal in November.

Klopp's other option is to play right-back Nathaniel Clyne on the opposite flank and utilise Connor Randall on the right as he has done in the past.
