Liverpool's academy director Alex Inglethorpe has signed a multi-year contract, committing his future to developing talent at the club.

Inglethorpe joined Liverpool in 2012 as Under-21 manager and became academy director in 2014 overseeing a youth structure which has produced several first-team players.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp praised the work of Inglethorpe.

"I think we have shown that with the work Alex and his staff do, we offer a clear pathway to first-team football if the players embrace what is on offer for them," he said.
