Liverpool forward Divock Origi says he is ready for "war"ahead of the Reds' derby clash with Everton on Mersey Monday, live on Sky Sports 1HD.
Origi, 21, has been in flying form for Jurgen Klopp's side in recent weeks scoring five goals in his last five games in league and cup, and the Belgian international has his sights set on Merseyside rivals Everton at Anfield on Monday evening.
"It will be a war," said Origi. "We go there in a very positive way.
"You want to win this game, you know it will not be easy, it is a derby so it will be special and a very big and important game for us as a club. We have to prepare it well."
Liverpool sit third in the Premier League table, two points behind Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, who beat Arsenal 2-1 at the Etihad on Nissan Super Sunday.
Everton have failed to beat Liverpool in the last 12 meetings between the sides, losing five and drawing seven stretching back to 2010.
October 2010 was the last time the Toffees beat Liverpool and the last time the club picked up a victory at Anfield was in September 1999.
Origi's last meeting with the Blues was the corresponding fixture last year in which Liverpool won 4-0 and after scoring the opener, the striker was forced to exit early through injury after a challenge from Argentine defender Ramiro Funes Mori.
Ahead of the 227th Merseyside derby, Origi has remarked that his fate last season makes him all the more motivated to do well on Monday night.
"These are things that happen," Origi added. "I came back stronger and I have to continue growing.
"I received an official message [from Funes Mori]. I keep on looking forward and I am very excited for the next game.
"How will I feel? I don't know who is playing but I am very motivated."
