Coventry youngster Cian Harries impresses during trial match for Liverpool's U23s

Coventry City youngster Cian Harries played the full 90 minutes in a 6-0 win for Liverpool U23s against Bangor City on Wednesday.

The teenager has a reputation for being a left-footed ball-playing centre-back and joined Liverpool on trial on Tuesday.

Coventry academy graduate Harries, 19, is a Wales youth international, who penned his first professional contract with the Sky Blues in 2015, before recently extending that deal until 2020.

He made his senior debut just under a year ago during a loan spell with Cheltenham Town and made his first appearance in a Coventry shirt in the 2-0 win at Oldham on the final day of last season.

Harries has featured in 14 matches in all competitions for Coventry this term.

The youngster put in an assured performance in the 6-0 win at Bangor, which saw him line up alongside compatriot and Liverpool U23s skipper Harry Wilson, who scored twice in the game.

Jack Dunn, who along with Kevin Stewart, was on loan at Cheltenham during Harries' time at the club, starred in the emphatic win for the young Reds, coming off the bench to score a superb eight-minute hat-trick.

Portuguese centre-back Tiago Ilori, who has been a regular starter for Liverpool's U23s this term, was a notable omission from the side, as speculation mounts the 23-year-old is set to join Jaap Stam's Sky Bet Championship high-flyers Reading.

Spanish midfielder Pedro Chirivella has also been linked with a move away from Anfield, with a number of media outlets reporting the Valencia youth product is set for a loan move to Dutch Eredivisie side Go Ahead Eagles for the remainder of the season.
