Jurgen Klopp has revealed he apologised to official Neil Swarbrick following his passionate outburst after Chelsea's saved penalty at Anfield.
The Liverpool boss' measured post-match comments were of stark contrast to his touchline demeanour during an incident-laden 90 minutes at Anfield.
The German got in the face of Swarbrick after referee Mark Clattenburg's decision to award Chelsea a penalty after Joel Matip's second-half challenge on Diego Costa.
Simon Mignolet was on hand to prevent Costa converting from 12 yards as Liverpool held the Premier League leaders to a 1-1 draw, clinging on to their dwindling titles hopes.
Mignolet's heroics prompted Klopp to exclaim "nobody can beat us" in Swarbrick's direction, a decision he quickly apologised for in the aftermath.
In a week which has seen Arsene Wenger receive a four-game touchline ban for manhandling a match official, it would appear Klopp's swift action - which was welcomed by Swarbrick - could well have avoided further punishment.
