Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp vowed his side will keep fighting until the end of the season in the race for the Champions League after his side were held to a 0-0 draw by Southampton.
The disappointing stalemate means the Reds' top-four hopes are in the balance as the campaign reaches its climax.
Liverpool have two Premier League games left to play, at West Ham next Sunday, before they finish the season at home to struggling Middlesbrough a week later.
However, Klopp is adamant his team will not give up in their bid to qualify for next season's Champions League.
"It was good enough to win, but it was a difficult game," he said after the full-time whistle.
"Southampton played really unlike them, they came here looking for a point, so I am fine with how we defended over the 90 minutes because they did not create anything other than one or two counterattacks.
"We had a hard job to do playing against 10 deep-defending players. We had our moments, but you need a bit of luck. We should have done, of course, a few things better.
"It's a point more. It doesn't feel in this moment like a point more, but it is. Now we're 70 (points), and if anybody thinks our season is finished…
"Two weeks ago we didn't have it in our own hands, last week we had it in our own hands, now we don't, that's obviously not too clear."
Liverpool have now dropped crucial points at home to a number of teams in the lower half of the table, including Swansea City, West Ham, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and now the Saints.
Klopp, though, says his players will head to the London Stadium next weekend giving their all in a bid to make it into Europe's premier club competition next season.
"We all have to play our games and we will play our games," said the German. "We will prepare for West Ham and we go there and try everything to get the points. That's all."
