Steven Gerrard's first game as Liverpool U18s boss ends in 7-0 win over Burton Albion

Steven Gerrard

Steven Gerrard enjoyed a great start to life as Liverpool U18s manager, overseeing a 7-0 thrashing of Burton Albion in his first game at the helm.

The club legend's first match in charge was a behind-closed-doors pre-season friendly at St George's Park and the Liverpool youngsters were quickly into their stride.

Liam Miller and Rafael Camacho led the way for the Reds, both finding the net twice, while Curtis Jones, Luis Longstaff and Adam Lewis (penalty) were also on target.

Former England skipper Gerrard returned to Anfield in order to take up a coaching role at the academy last year and was named manager of the U18 squad in the summer.
