Liverpool’s players expressed solidarity with supporter Sean Cox in the immediate aftermath of qualifying for the Champions League final on May 26.

Mr Cox, a Liverpool fan from Dunboyne, County Meath in Ireland, sustained serious head injuries and remains in a critical condition after being attacked by a group of Roma fans outside Anfield before last week's Champions League semi-final first leg.

Two Italian men were charged by Merseyside following the attack.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson wrote a letter this week to Mr Cox's GAA club, St Peter's, in Dunboyne to express solidarity with the 53-year-old's friends and family members and also sent a jersey signed by the Liverpool squad.

Following Wednesday's match in the Stadio Olimpico, Liverpool's players showed Mr Cox remains on their minds as they posed with a banner from the crowd which read "Sean Cox - You'll Never Walk Alone".
