MORRISON APOLOGISES TO OWEN
Morrison was on target for Palace in their Worthington Cup victory over Liverpool, while Owen missed a string of opportunities.
This prompted The Eagles` forward to claim that he would have scored some of the chances Owen missed.
Morrison was criticised for his comments but, following his side`s 3-0 league victory over Nottingham Forest on Sunday, the forward claimed he was misquoted.
Speaking to SkySports, Morrison said: "I want to apologise to Michael Owen and Liverpool, as I was misquoted."
At the time, Morrison was quoted as saying: "I was looking at all the opportunities Owen had and wishing I could have had some of them. I would have put at least two of them away.
"I don`t think Owen has been the same since his injury problems. He is just a bit low on confidence at the moment.
"All I can say to him is to keep your head down, work hard and hit the target. You will score goals eventually."
Morrison has never been far from the headlines, and he was substituted during the Forest match, despite having a fine game - setting up Mikael Forssell`s two goals.
He took offence at being replaced and was seen throwing his tracksuit top to the floor and launching a verbal volley at manager Alan Smith.
However, following the game, he laughed off the spat, saying: "It was just handbags as I was disappointed, because I want to play all the time.
"But it has all been forgotten now."
Morrison`s sparkling form has prompted Palace chairman Simon Jordan to slap a £10 million price tag on the 21-year-old.
