Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain suffers from a lack of self-belief, according to Arsene Wenger, and his manager has urged him to learn from Alexis Sanchez.
Oxlade-Chamberlain, 22, has made a strong start to the season for the Gunners, but has scored just once in his nine appearances so far.
Wenger revealed that the England international is highly self-critical but believes he will thrive if he learns from Sanchez how to get into better goal-scoring positions.
Ahead of the Champions League clash at home to Olympiakos, the Arsenal boss said: "For me, it is down to the quality of the reception; that means the area you get the ball.
"That makes Alexis difficult to mark, because he gets into positions where he can score. He is a good finisher, and that is what Alex has to learn from him. You can work on it, knowing where to be at the right moment.
"I see Alex train every day. He is dedicated, focused, and hungry. But his dad said he lacks a bit of self-belief and I can confirm that because he is very critical of himself.
"That's positive and a sign of top-level sportsmen, but you have to find the right balance of being not happy with what you do without harming the confidence."
Looking towards Tuesday night's Group F encounter, however, Oxlade-Chamberlain has earmarked Francis Coquelin, who will return from injury at the Emirates, for praise.
He said: "Francis is a massive, vocal part of our team. Everything that he does is different to what a lot of the other boys in our team can do.
"I think that's crucial to the team because he brings something different. As long as he keeps doing that, I'm sure he's going to keep progressing as a player and helping this team."
