Title-chasing Arsenal host defending champions Chelsea on Super Sunday looking to take another stride towards ending their wait to win the Premier League.
Producing consistency where others have failed this season, the Gunners - currently top of the league on goal difference - are well placed to finally end their 12-year title drought.
However, with second-placed Leicester able to regain top spot if they avoid defeat to Stoke on Saturday, Arsenal may need a win against Chelsea if they are to keep pace at the top, something they have not managed in the Premier League since October 2011.
The Blues' indifferent form this season may fill Arsenal fans with optimism, but Sunday's fixture would have sent shivers down Arsene Wenger's spine not so long ago - with the Gunners boss winless in the Premier League against a Jose Mourinho-managed Chelsea team.
Fast forward a month, however, and the Portuguese's second sacking at Stamford Bridge could well have handed Wenger an opportunity to end an eight-game winless run against the west Londoners in the Premier League.
And the stats suggest Wenger may be able to do just that, with the Frenchman boasting an impressive 51.9 per cent win-rate against Chelsea in the league when Mourinho has not been in the opposing dug-out - compared to zero per cent when he is.
You could argue Wenger would have fancied his chances in front of the Sky cameras this weekend regardless of who was overseeing things at Chelsea, given both sides' recent form.
While that may be true, it remains to be seen whether Mourinho's timely exit hands Wenger and Arsenal the chance to improve their record against the champions, while strengthening their burgeoning title hopes in the process.
