Theo Walcott says there will be no repeat of last season's humiliating 5-1 defeat to Bayern Munich when Arsenal meet the German giants in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Bayern have knocked the Gunners out at the last 16 stage twice in recent years, and humiliated them in the group stage last term.

But Walcott says Arsenal are a much more resilient outfit this season, and reckons Bayern will have hoped to avoid them.

"You've got to face the best teams in the Champions League," he said. "They won't want to play Arsenal.

"I'm not going to lie when I say that it's going to be a very difficult game, we know how hard it's going to be.

"We've just got to look at ourselves and think how we've improved this season compared to the seasons we've played them recently. We lost 5-1 at their place last season, we can't be doing stuff like that. We're a lot more resilient this year.

"I can't really see that happening. We're a lot more focused and dedicated. Who knows? We'll see, but we'll give them a good game, definitely."
