Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is braced for bad news on the hamstring injury Francis Coquelin picked up against Bournemouth on Tuesday night.
Coquelin was replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after just 28 minutes at the Vitality Stadium and will undergo a scan later this week.
Arsenal fought back in the final 20 minutes from 3-0 down to claim a 3-3 draw but after the game Wenger was concerned about Coquelin's injury, admitting the player's reaction suggested it may be a serious problem.
"Coquelin has a hamstring (problem)," said Wenger.
"We have to wait 48 hours for the scan and the result. But usually when he sits down and comes off it's not so good news.
"If it's just tiredness he will try to play on but he didn't even try to play again."
Wenger revealed the injury problems did not stop there for Arsenal, but the Gunners boss was pleased with how his players responded, although they remain fourth in the table, eight points behind leaders Chelsea who play Tottenham on Wednesday evening, live on Sky Sports.
"We had some players at half-time who had problems," said Wenger. "I changed it very early in the second half, and I think they refused to lose the game. There is a great resilience in the team and they showed it again today.
"In terms of our ambitions we dropped two points, but we have to do better in the other games and hope that the other teams who come here will drop points, too."
