Arsenal are yet to comment on reports Alexis Sanchez was involved in a training ground bust-up with his team-mates prior to Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Liverpool.

Widespread reports in the national press have suggested the 28-year-old walked out of training mid-session last week before being involved in an angry confrontation with his team-mates.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is likely to face questions over the alleged incident at his media conference at 12.30pm on Monday ahead of the Champions League return with Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

The Gunners squad will hold an open training session at their London Colney base - live on Sky Sports News HQ from 10.30am - with Sanchez expected to take a full part.

Sanchez was left out of the starting line-up for the match at Anfield, but came on at half time with the Gunners losing 2-0 following strikes from Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

Arsenal pulled a goal back shortly after Sanchez's introduction, with the Chile forward providing the pass for Danny Welbeck to score his first Premier League goal of the season before Georginio Wijnaldum wrapped up the win for Liverpool.

In the aftermath of the defeat on Merseyside, Wenger admitted his decision to drop Sanchez had backfired.

"Yes (it did backfire) but I felt that in the first half the strikers suffered because we didn't dominate in the midfield and in the second half you could see that it was easier because Danny Welbeck and Olivier Giroud were much better, so it's always debatable," said Wenger.

The Sunday Supplement panel discuss Alexis Sanchez starting as a sub

"I am strong enough and lucid enough to analyse. I don't deny Alexis Sanchez is a great player - I bought him - but this was my plan.

"The collective performance was not good enough in the first half and that is the more rational explanation."

Reports in the national press have since linked Sanchez with a summer move away from Arsenal, with Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain mooted as potential suitors.

Sanchez has just over 15 months remaining on his contract at the Emirates and is yet to confirm whether he will extend his stay.

It is not yet known whether he will return to the starting line-up for the second leg of Arsenal's Champions League last 16 tie against Munich, with the Gunners on the verge on exiting the competition after a 5-1 first-leg defeat.
