Chuba Akpom scored a hat-trick as Arsenal beat the Singapore Select XI 4-0

Arsenal and Everton will meet in Saturday’s Barclays Asia Trophy final after both winning in Wednesday’s semis.

The Gunners saw off the Singapore Select XI with a comfortable 4-0 win in the Singapore National Stadium.

Chuba Akpom showed his potential as he fired a hat-trick, while Jack Wilshere added another from the spot to seal a solid victory for the Gunners.

In the day’s earlier game, Everton and Stoke couldn't be separated over 90 minutes as they played out a 0-0 draw.

Everton beat Stoke 5-4 on penalties to reach Saturday's final

Romelu Lukaku went close for Roberto Martinez's men late on, but the game was destined to go to a penalty shoot-out.

Marco van Ginkel - on loan from Chelsea - saw his effort saved by Tim Howard, and that proved to be the difference as Everton netted all five of their spot-kicks, with skipper Phil Jagielka firing in the winning penalty.
