Everton sign Enner Valencia from West Ham on a season-long loan

Everton have signed West Ham striker Enner Valencia on a season-long loan.

The deal includes the option of a permanent deal and he will join up with the squad after international duty with Ecuador. He had also been linked with a move to Swansea, but chose to move to Goodison Park on Deadline Day.

Valencia arrived at West Ham two years ago for a fee of around £12m from Mexican side Pachuca.

The 26-year-old, who has three years remaining on his current deal with the Hammers, has made six appearances this season.

Since joining the club, Valencia has scored eight goals in 51 Premier League appearances.

He had previously played in Liga MX, the Mexican league, where he scoring 18 times in 23 games for Pachuca in 2014 and was the league's top scorer that season.

Before moving to Mexico, Valencia broke through in his home country at Emelec, where his goals and assists helped the club to an Ecuadorian league title in 2013.
