Match in a Minute: Southampton 1-0 Everton

Ross Barkley (L) endured another frustrating game

Thierry Henry was on Nissan Super Sunday to give his thoughts on Southampton's 1-0 win over Everton.

Ronald Koeman suffered defeat on his return to St Mary's as the hosts comfortably outplayed Everton to secure all three points.

The occasion was another on which Saints should have scored more than they did, but a first win in four - courtesy of another goal from Charlie Austin, Koeman's last signing on the south coast - proved enough to take them back up to 10th.

Defeat also means Everton have won only one of their past nine fixtures, further highlighting the improvements required and threatening to undermine their fine start to the season.

"I'm not worried about results, I'm worried about what I see on the pitch," said Koeman.

"How we start the game, have difficulties to be organised defensively and stop the opponents. I'm worried because the wake-up call, how we played in first half, to concede a goal after one minute: that cannot happen.
