Sky Sports News HQ understands Romelu Lukaku is poised to commit his future to Everton.

SSNHQ has been told terms have been agreed for a new five-year deal and all that remains is for the forward to sign the contract.

The Belgium international became the Toffees top Premier League goalscorer when he netted his 61st league goal for the club in Sunday's 3-2 defeat to Tottenham, moving him ahead of Duncan Ferguson.

In total, he has scored 78 times in 175 Premier League games since moving to England in 2011.

Only three other Premier League players have scored more goals before turning 24 and Lukaku does not reach that age until May.

He initially joined Everton on loan from Chelsea in 2013 before making the deal permanent in the summer of 2014 for a club record fee of £28m.

Sky Sports News HQ interviewed Lukaku last week and the 23-year-old said he was very happy at Everton, while admitting that he is keen to compete for the biggest trophies in the sport.
