Everton winger Yannick Bolasie says "everything is going good" in his recovery from a long-term knee injury and has revealed he hopes to be jogging again within a fortnight.

Bolasie has undergone two separate operations on his knee since injuring his cruciate ligament during the 1-1 draw with Manchester United in December.

The injury and subsequent operations have marred Bolasie's debut season at Goodison Park, following his £30million arrival from Crystal Palace last summer.

Bolasie has maintained a positive outlook throughout his spell on the sidelines and is hoping to recover in time for the start of pre-season for the 2017-18 campaign.

"Everything's going good. I couldn't ask for the knee to be in a better position right now," Bolasie told Everton's official website.

"I'm just taking it steady and going with the flow. I've been working hard with the physios trying to cut down on the time (I'm out). That's the aim.

"It's too early to say when I'll be back playing. I think when I start running then I'll have a better picture of where I'm at.

"I'm hoping to start light jogging in two weeks and then I'll know what we are looking at. It depends how everything reacts and if I feel comfortable."

Everton are guaranteed seventh place in the Premier League regardless of their result against Arsenal on the final day of the season and Bolasie sees no reason why the Toffees can't challenge the top six next term.

"That's always the aim (to improve on the previous season)," Bolasie said.

"The club have brought in a great manager to do that and we've got some great players here already.

"Obviously we are going to look to add to that over the summer and our first aim next season has to be to break into the top six next season and then see where we can go from there."
