Aaron Lennon scored the first goal of his comeback from stress-related illness as Everton maintained their 100 per cent start to pre-season with victory over FC Twente on Wednesday.
Lennon, who was sectioned under the Mental Health Act in April, inspired the Toffees to a comprehensive 3-0 victory over the Eredivisie side.
It was the winger's second pre-season appearance having featured against Gor Mahia in Tanzania on July 13, and the outing presented the perfect platform for Lennon to continue his recovery.
After Kevin Mirallas had fired Everton into the lead shortly before half-time, Lennon and Wayne Rooney were introduced from the bench after 62 minutes.
And Lennon's big moment came 11 minutes later as he embarked on a trademark, mazy run into the Twente area before flashing a low drive into the bottom right-hand corner.
England U20 World Cup winner Kieran Dowell made it two goals in two pre-season games with the third for Ronald Koeman's men nine minutes from time.
Everton have a friendly against Genk in Belgium on Saturday before their first Europa League qualifier next Thursday.
