Everton defender Gethin Jones has committed his future to the club by signing a new two-year contract at Goodison Park.
The 19-year-old, who had just 12 months to run on his previous deal, is now tied to the Premier League side until the summer of 2017.
Jones made his senior debut last season, coming on as a late substitute in the 1-0 Europa League home defeat to FC Krasnodar, before spending time on loan at League Two Plymouth Argyle.
But having signed fresh terms, the Wales U21 international is hoping to stake his claim for first-team inclusion under manager Roberto Martinez in the coming season.
"I’m over the moon," he told the club’s official website. "I worked hard last year to get this new contract. I’ve been working hard as long as I’ve been here, since I was 13, and all I want to do is try and play for the first team.
"I had a little taste of it last season and now I want more.
"It was a brilliant experience at Plymouth too and they got into the play-offs. It was good for me because I changed positions to centre midfield where I used to play when I was younger."
