Crystal Palace striker Connor Wickham has been charged with retrospective violent conduct over an incident with Tottenham's Jan Vertonghen on Saturday.
Wickham, who faces a three-match ban if found guilty, appeared to elbow Vertonghen in the face as he was marked at a Crystal Palace corner in the 69th minute of Spurs' 3-1 win at Selhurst Park.
Vertonghen also picked up an injury in the aftermath of the incident and was eventually substituted in the 75th minute, replaced by Kevin Wimmer.
After referee Martin Atkinson took no action during the game, the incident was referred to a three-man FA panel, which unanimously agreed on the charge.
And the FA confirmed on Monday: "Wickham has been charged for an alleged act of violent conduct which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video.
"The matter was referred to a panel of three former elite referees who each reviewed the video footage independently of one another to determine whether they considered it a sending-off offence.
"The player has until 6pm on Tuesday January 26, 2016, to reply to the charge."
