Harry Kane says he wants to become one of the best strikers in the world after steering Tottenham's title bid back on track.
The England international scored twice as Spurs won 2-0 at Aston Villa on Sunday to close the gap on leaders Leicester to two points, following a defeat to West Ham and a draw with Arsenal in their previous two games.
The goals at Villa Park moved the 22-year-old joint top of the goalscoring charts on 19, alongside Leicester's Jamie Vardy, and he is delighted to be scoring regularly following a slow start to the league campaign.
"There was a lot of talk at the start of the season but the top players in the world find a way to get around (challenges) and score 20 or 30 goals, season after season," said Kane.
"I want to be one of the top strikers and I know I have to find ways to score goals that are different from last season because there is probably more attention than there was last year.
"Defenders get tighter this year. Whenever I get in a position to shoot, there are two or three people trying to block the shot.
"That's one of the little things I've noticed and I definitely see little differences from last season. If you want to be a player scoring goals every year in the Premier League, you have to be able to cope with that."
Leicester can restore their five-point cushion with a win over Newcastle on Monday Night Football, while Tottenham must focus on Thursday's Europa League second-leg against Borussia Dortmund, looking to overturn a 3-0 deficit.
Kane, who could be rested at White Hart Lane ahead of Sunday's next league encounter against Bournemouth, does not see any reason why Spurs cannot progress to the next round.
"It is a big mountain to climb but there is no reason we can't do it. Our performance was disappointing last week but we've got nothing to lose now," he added.
