Christian Eriksen is hopeful a successful international break will see Tottenham's players return ready for a final push for the Premier League.

Eriksen will play for Denmark against Scotland on Tuesday night - live on Sky Sports 1 - having watched four of his Spurs team-mates impress for England in the 3-2 win over Germany in Berlin on Saturday.

All of Tottenham's first XI are on international duty this week - although Toby Alderweireld will miss Belgium's friendly with Portugal through illness - ahead of Saturday's trip to Liverpool, also live on Sky Sports 1, when Spurs will attempt to close the gap on league leaders Leicester to two points.

And Eriksen is optimistic the break from domestic duty will not disrupt a team that has won eight of its last 10 Premier League games.

"Hopefully all the players who are out on international duty are doing really well, getting a lot of confidence and will be back straight into the title race," he told Sky Sports News HQ.

Spurs have not won the title since 1961, but he does not think the burden of history is a disadvantage for Mauricio Pochettino's side.

"We know we can make history, but for Leicester it is the same, they know they can make history as well," he added.
