Harry Kane and Dele Alli were on the scoresheet once again as Tottenham beat Everton 3-2 in the Premier League

Mauricio Pochettino puts Harry Kane's prolific form in front of goal down to double training sessions as the England international leads the Premier League scoring charts.

The Tottenham striker scored twice in Sunday's 3-2 win over Everton to take his total for the season to 19 in the league, and 24 in all competitions.

Kane has 11 goals in the Premier League in 2017 as has scored three hat-tricks in the league and FA Cup since the turn of the year.

Pochettino - who was without the England forward for five games earlier in the campaign as he recovered from an ankle injury - has been impressed by the way Kane has worked his way back to his prime.

"I think he is fresh because he trains a lot," Pochettino said. "He makes a lot of double sessions and he is very professional.

"If you are asleep and you eat and you forget to train, maybe you are fat, like me! And you cannot run. I think it's about being consistent and training.

"He is very focused now in training and in taking care of himself and you can see how he is."

Pochettino thinks the manner of the win over Everton showed how much belief Tottenham have that they can catch Premier League leaders Chelsea.

Spurs trail their London rivals by seven points ahead of Monday Night Football, which sees Antonio Conte's side travel to West Ham, live on Sky Sports 1.

Nevertheless, they are in a strong position to capitalise should Chelsea slip up, having recorded a club-record ninth successive home Premier League win at the weekend.

Pochettino added: "The most important thing is to show the belief on the pitch and I think we showed that.

"More than talk and more than speak outside, it is better the team show their performance because I think (regarding) belief the answer is very easy.

"We need to be there. It's not up to us of course, but it's up to us to be ready if they fail."
