Tottenham are considering making a Deadline Day bid for Everton playmaker Ross Barkley, Sky sources understand.
Barkley has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park during the current transfer window, with Chelsea also understood to be interested in the 23-year-old.
The England international is currently ruled out with a groin injury but Spurs remain interested in signing him, even though his current fitness problems mean he would be unable to pass a medical.
Mauricio Pochettino's side also appear poised to beat the Blues to another transfer target with Swansea striker Fernando Llorente, long-admired by Antonio Conte, understood to be undergoing a medical with Spurs.
Tottenham have already secured one Deadline Day signing after they announced the £23m capture of Paris Saint-Germain right-back Serge Aurier as replacement for Kyle Walker following his £50m move to Manchester City.
