Spurs told to up Morgan offer

WIMBLEDON boss Terry Burton has told Tottenham that young star Lionel Morgan will not be allowed to leave on the cheap.

Spurs manager Glenn Hoddle has been deeply impressed with the promising midfielder and lodged a bid believed to be in the region of £750,000 earlier in the month.

The Dons have said that offer is simply not acceptable for a player of such potential, and have told Spurs to up their bid if they want to land the England Under-19 international.

A clearly unhappy Burton (pictured) said: "Just because we are short of money doesn't mean we have to let players go on the cheap.

"Spurs haven't upped their bid and I don't want him to leave unless we receive a substantial amount of money.

"He's very talented and we would need adequate compensation for losing him."
