Clemence back on track

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR midfielder Stephen Clemence is looking to make a return to action before the end of the season as he battles back from injury.

The 24-year-old has been out of action for seven months with medial knee ligament damage that required surgery.

After months of rehabilitation, he finally returned to action in the reserves in February, but has been eased into things slowly by club doctors.

Clemence should now be fully fit for the start of next season but says he would like to pull on a Spurs shirt in the first team before the end of the campaign.

"Although I have got one eye on next season I want to play a few games before the end of the season," said Clemence.

Glenn Hoddle has been unlucky with injuries this season and will be glad to have Clemence back available for next term.
