Spurs' triple injury woe
Les Ferdinand (hamstring), Matthew Etherington (ankle) and Stephen Clemence (calf) all picked up knocks in the Worthington Cup humiliation to Division One side Burnley.
They join a list of crocked stars that already includes Dean Richards and Jamie Redknapp who were both injured in Tottenham's goaless draw with Chelsea.
Richards is still troubled by an eye injury, even after the former Southampton defender saw a specialist this week.
"We lost Les at half-time and Matt soon afterwards, so we had to make adjustments, but no excuses, from 1-0 up we should've gone on to win the game."
Hoddle was understandably frustrated by his side's second half collapse in midweek and told the club's official website: "We're disappointed after getting ourselves in the lead and being in control of the game."
He added: "I can't believe what happened afterwards, quite frankly.
"We should never have let that slip, but it's happened and to be fair to Burnley they deserved to win."
Some good news for Hoddle is that defender Anthony Gardner and midfielder Darren Anderton, both came through the game unscathed and remain in the squad to face Sunderland on Sunday.
There should also be recalls for skipper Teddy Sheringham and German midfielder Steffan Freund who were both rested for the game in midweek.
