Two arrested in race row

Two football supporters have been arrested by police.

Two football supporters have been arrested following alleged racist abuse at Dwight Yorke on Sunday.

The Birmingham striker came under fire from fans at Ewood Park, comments that forced Yorke to confront the fans.

Blues manager Steve Bruce has confirmed Yorke, along with Stephen Clemence, have been questioned and now two individuals have been arrested in connection with the investigation.

Clemence was warming-up with Yorke on the touchline when the incident occurred and Yorke informed the midfielder of the events after they happened.

"The police have interviewed him (Yorke) as well as Stephen Clemence and they've pressed charges," said Bruce to Sky Sports News.

"Two police officers came down here and Dwight Yorke formally made a complaint against them.

"There is no room for it. It obviously still exists. We have to do our utmost to stamp it out."
