Aston Villa's Micah Richards accepts FA charge of misconduct

Micah Richards has accepted an FA charge of improper conduct after a tunnel incident following Aston Villa's 2-1 home defeat to Swansea.

Villa captain Richards had until 6pm on Thursday to reply to the charge and opted against an appeal.

The former Manchester City player had clashed on the pitch with Swansea defender Federico Fernandez - an incident that did not require censure - but continued arguing with the Argentine once the teams left the field.
