Ahmed Elmohamady has completed his transfer from Hull to Aston Villa.
Elmohamady agreed personal terms and signed a three-year deal on Tuesday after Villa met a release clause in his Hull contract.
The move reunites the Egyptian wide player with Villa boss Steve Bruce, who signed him during spells at Sunderland and on Humberside.
"I am delighted to be here," he told the Villa website. "Aston Villa is a great club and I am thrilled to join - it's one of the very biggest clubs in England and its history and tradition is there for all to see.
"It's a great time to join too as we look for promotion to the Premier League. I will give absolutely everything to help us achieve that goal.
"I know first-hand what it takes to win promotion and I want that feeling again."
Elmohamady scored 12 goals in 218 appearances during his five years with City, spent mainly at right-back or right midfield, and twice won promotion to the Premier League.
The 29-year-old is Villa's third summer signing after deals for Sam Johnstone and John Terry.
