O'Neill happy to let defender leave

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is willing to let Stephen O'Halloran leave the club on loan. The defender has only recently returned from a month at Southampton, but he did not play in any of the six games he was available for. O'Neill was disappointed that he did not feature as there had been several other clubs interested in the Republic of Ireland international. O'Halloran has yet to make his Villa debut and O'Neill is now ready to send him out again for more regular football. "He had a very frustrating time at Southampton where he didn't play," O'Neill told the Express & Star. "Stephen is in real need of games now. He didn't play at Southampton, he's come back now and I'd certainly look at sending Stephen out on loan for 28 days."
