Newcastle forward Aleksandar Mitrovic is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a medial knee ligament injury, manager Steve McClaren has confirmed.
McClaren has told Sky Sports News HQ that he expects to be without Mitrovic for "a couple of weeks".
Mitrovic, who joined Newcastle from Anderlecht for £13m last July, has not travelled with the rest of the first-team squad to La Manga for their warm weather training camp.
However, Siem de Jong, Paul Dummett and Vurnon Anita have travelled with the squad after recovering from their respective injuries.
Newcastle, currently 18th in the Premier League table, have won just two of their last 10 league matches and face a trip to Stoke City in their next Premier League game on March 2.
