Newcastle forward Islam Slimani has been charged with violent conduct by the FA following an incident during the 1-0 defeat at home to West Brom on Saturday.
The incident occurred in the 80th minute of the match at St James' Park, when Slimani appeared to kick out at Baggies' defender Craig Dawson.
It was not seen by the match officials but was caught on video - Slimani has until 6pm on Tuesday to respond to the charge.
The Algeria international joined Leicester from Sporting Lisbon for £29m in August 2016 but was loaned out to Rafa Benitez's side in January.
A thigh problem has limited Slimani's playing time on Tyneside, with the West Brom game just his fourth game with the club.
That could prove to be the 29-year-old's last game for the Magpies, unless they attempt to sign him on a permanent contract over the summer, with Slimani facing a three-match ban if the FA upholds the violent conduct charge.
