Manuel Pellegrini is hoping Sergio Aguero will return from injury for Manchester City’s next game against Liverpool on November 21.

The City boss is keen for the Argentine to be available after his side were held to a 0-0 draw with Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday.

Aguero has been out for seven games with a hamstring problem, the same injury suffered by Wilfried Bony who limped off in the first half against Villa, and Pellegrini said a few of his players are close to a return after the international break.

"I hope Sergio, Samir Nasri and Pablo Zabaleta will do their last work with the physio and next Monday will start working with the squad," the Chilean told Sky Sports.

"We will see in the way he (Aguero) improves this week but I think he can be (fit after the international break). It will be easier for us to have a striker.

"Bony has a hamstring injury and we will see on Monday how long he will be.
