Fernandinho could be rewarded for his fine start to the season by being offered an extension on his Manchester City contract.
It means the 30-year-old, whose current deal does not expire until 2017, could be set for a move up the club's pay structure, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Fernandinho, who signed for City from Shakhtar Donetsk for £30m in the summer of 2013, has proved himself to be a vital part of Manuel Pellegrini's side both domestically and in Europe this campaign.
Fernandinho won the Premier League title in his first season at the Etihad and his return to form this term has helped City top the league alongside Arsenal and qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League.
He has been an attacking threat this season as well, chipping in with three goals and has a passing success rate of nearly 93 percent - the best in the Premier League.
