Ibrahim Afellay expects Pep Guardiola to show why he is one of the world's best coaches at Manchester City.

Bayern Munich manager Guardiola will take over at City in the summer, replacing Manuel Pellegrini who will depart in May.

Stoke midfielder Afellay was signed by Guardiola for Barcelona in January 2011, and he believes the former Spain midfielder will show his quality in the Premier League.

"I think it's his image, his name. He's one of the best coaches in the world," said Afellay.

"He showed it at Barcelona, he showed it at Bayern Munich and, for sure, he will show it as well at City."

Guardiola was known in Barcelona for his free-flowing, attacking style of football, which he has replicated with his Bayern side. Afellay believes that style will be one of a number of things Guardiola will be able to bring to City.

"He is busy with football 24 hours, seven days a week," added Afellay.

Afellay was speaking to Sky Sports News HQ from the Willows school in Stoke-on-Trent. He was there to present goody-bags to young fans that will turn seven during this school year, as part of the football club's City 7s initiative.
